Privacy Settings

Your privacy is important. This statement explains how Standards Core processes it and for what purposes.

Standards Core services access publicly available data and AI models available in the public domain to provide intelligent applications for codes, standards and engineering specifications.

Standards Core, by default, does not collect any data from the user except for user login and authentication information provided at registration from Microsoft or through the Registration link on our website Standards Core uses the latest recommended Microsoft ASP.NET Core Identity Services and Azure SQL Database to store that information.

The content which our Office 365 Add-ins accesses in your documents and which is displayed in the Task Pane are not maintained or sent anywhere outside of your immediate document and editing session (see ""Translation and AI Services"" for further information).

Consent

By using our website, applications and Add-ins, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

Personal Data Collection Options

The information that you provide, and what we do with it can be set by you via our privacy tier settings. We offer three tiers of privacy settings that you can select that will ultimately determine what we can and will do with your information.

We do not share or sell any user information to other organizations, business or companies. Standards Core is independent and unbiased and does not accept any third-party advertisements, product sponsorships, or incentivized placement or ranking.

The only reason to store, use or otherwise evaluate user information is to promote enhanced machine learning, training and improved AI model outcomes and results.

The three primary tiers of privacy data settings are:

Under total privacy, absolutely no data is stored outside of the default user registration information associated with the basic service and which is stored for all M365 Add-In users. This also means that settings are not stored, such as language preference and AI inquiry or prompt data, so the user will have to reconfigure them with each session.

In this mode, Standards Core uses and remembers cookies. These cookies are used to store information including users' preferences and can be used to optimize the users' experience on the page and application based on their personal browser type or other information.

In full trust mode we store all of your settings on our server (in database), as well as collect data for machine training and AI purposes. Note: When we do collect, store, and further use machine learning data it is done without any user context whatsoever – we take great care in doing this. For example, when our tools make AI Suggestions, and if you are not in Total Privacy mode, we typically display “was this helpful” thumbs up and down buttons – when you provide such feedback, we go on to pass that feedback to the AI model, ensuring that no user nor project context is passed along. It is up to you to click those feedback buttons, if you do not, nothing further is sent to the AI models.

If the user contacts Standards Core Directly via a submitted feature request, providing issue reports, or submitting Support requests, Standards Core will temporarily store this content and associate it with that user. Most of this information is temporary, for example, feature requests are deleted when the new features are implemented. Note: our Account Management site allows users to download ALL data associated with them if they choose to close an account.

The user has the ultimate authority as to what kind of data we collect and that is best determined by what kind of experience they are looking for and, on the setting page, can set the amount of information that is stored or saved and how it will be used.

Translation and AI Services

Users who access the translation and AI services have their information sent to the respective cloud services of those agents. The responses of those agents are displayed directly in the user interface. Standards Core does not keep anything on our servers from these queries unless the user has elected “Full Trust” mode, and in that instance, the information is only kept for statistics and model training purposes.

Log Files

Standards Core follows a standard procedure for using log files. These files log users when they visit websites and use applications. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, ISP, date and time stamp, referring/ exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks or actions. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable and is only used for analyzing trends, administering the site and services, and tracking movement. Standards Core does not share this date with anyone or any entity for any reason.

Professional or Enterprise Subscriptions

By Default, data is not stored anywhere. However, the user can configure the settings to store their information to control what gets saved and how it is used. Advanced features are often optimized by electing to save, send and store data back and forth between AI Servers to augment and promote machine learning, training and improving AI models and results. This process inherently requires the use and storage of data. This data is not linked to any specific user.

Business Transfer

If Standards Core undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information, including login and registration, may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of the transaction, and that data will be subject to the acquiring entity’s privacy policy. If this occurs, email notification of the anticipated transfer will be sent, and users will have the option to delete their account and therefore purge their information.
